This website was created by Charles Mazurek for the purpose of creating a new business model for historic preservation, starting a residence club to save historic properties, and exploring other opportunities for expanding the field of historic preservation. 

We are a for-profit organization, and savethehistorichouses.com is located under the banner of Architectural Retreats, which is a Limited Liability Company (LLC) based in Maryland.

A standard business model, rather than a non-profit status, will allow us greater control over our financing and operation so that we can be financially self sufficient when restoring historic properties.

My guarantee: If after making your funding contribution, you honestly believe that I haven't delivered on this project, then send me your name, mailing address, and the amount you funded to me at: charles@savethehistorichouses.com. The money that you contributed will be promptly sent to the Historic Annapolis Foundation for the preservation of historic houses in Annapolis. You will have 12 full months to ask that your contribution be sent to the Historic Annapolis Foundation, from the date that you make the contribution.  After those 12 months have passed we will assume that you are satisfied with our progress and will retain that funding indefinitely.   

Any money that is sent through the Paypal link, or by any other means, will be kept solely for the use of the Save the Historic Houses project and will not be used for any other business under the Architectural Retreats LLC. (As a disclosure Paypal charges a certain percentage to use their link, so their charges are automatically deducted from the amount by their company when the money is sent, and we will have to pay taxes on these donations as income so the appropriate amount of the donation money will be allocated for that).

Funding that you send will be used to create the Save the Historic Houses Residence Club in Annapolis.  This could include such things as business fees, property acquisitions, property restoration, club formation, marketing, business expenses, property maintenance etc.  It will be used for all the expenses of getting a business involving real estate up and running and then opening and operating a residence club.     

If after a reasonable amount of time has passed we do not have enough money to get this project fully started, all money that is donated will be given to the Historic Annapolis Foundation located in Annapolis, Maryland.  If some is spent on getting the club started we will donate the remaining money and any profits.   They are a well established historic preservation organization that protect and preserve historic structures, and provide historic interpretation all over the city of Annapolis.  As stated above in the contribution guarantee if you donate funding to this project and don't see the results you want then let us know by email at charles@savethehistorichouses.com.  You have 12 months to let us know.  After that we will retain the funding indefinitely.  If you include your name, address, and donation amount, we will forward that money on to the Historic Annapolis Foundation.  Taxes and Paypal fees that have been taken out will not be included in this amount.
